Sea World

Today we spent time at Sea World. Despite the heat again, we all had a good time watching the shows, going on rides and seeing all the animals and sea life.
I didn't take any photos before lunch, but we managed to have a busy morning, all going on the flume ride, and for the more adventurous the jet ski roller coaster and the sea viper roller coaster. Also watching the sting rays being fed, checking out the polar bears and watching the dolphin show. The dolphins were amazing. I was sitting next to Lilly and you could tell she was entranced taking everything in.
So by lunch it was find a cool spot and eat and watch the pirate show with jet ski action, acrobatics and high divers.

Nathan really hates the the heat and here it looks as though he's given up. We did get him going again though, after some food, water and icy fizz drinks.

Here Jakob was willing to tolerate a session of Happy Feet in 3D with Lilly just to have some time with air conditioning

After a break Henry and Katie-Lynne were raring to go for more thrill rides with Jason. While the rest of us went for a more sedate time with shark viewing, the Happy Feet show and the Sea Lion show.
One cool place was Castaway Bay. Where pirate ships you ride go around a lagoon loaded with water cannons, and there are various stations on shore with water cannons also and those on the boats shoot and those on shore shoot and everyone just get soaked. A great way to cool off.
I think some adults who got on the boats, didn't realize what they were in for and got absolutely drenched. Jason had a field day while waiting for the kids shooting other people. He also got drenched by them.

One of mine and Lilly's favourite places was shark bay. Especially the underwater viewing area which was also air conditioned. All the fish were amazing swimming around amongst the sharks.

This fish was massive was just a bit hideous, it was just hanging there like this barely moving. Probably checking us all out.
Lilly loved the stingrays and spent ages watching them being fed above ground, and watching them swim underground.
Another great show was the seals. I think Nathan even forgot about the heat while he watched and was amused by their antics. The last place we discovered just before we left were the penguins. It was actually set up as their habitat and while we were viewing them staff were dressed up in their snow suits putting in fresh snow. And even though they were behind glass you could feel the iciness in the air.
We all had a good day, but were definitely in need in need of a swim after.
We also all agreed that Sea World and Wet and Wild were good theme parks, but Movie World just wasn't as good as it is made out to be.
