Currumbin

On Monday we gave the kids a choice between Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary or Dreamworld, and was a little suprised when they chose Currumbin. But it turned out to be a really good day as it was not as crowded as the theme parks, the weather was cooler and the activities were different... also the wildlife was interesting.
When we first arrived there the boys and Jason went on the Segway Safari , they loved it! Riding around the park on these two wheeler things, that are controlled by the movements of your body. While they did that the girls and I went and looked around the park, and found a really cool little train to ride on to see the park, not as exciting as the Segways but it was still fun.

After we met up again, we decided to try the Green Challenge which is a tree tops ropes course with four different levels. We were planning to try as a family but Lilly was about 5cm too short - she was devastated. Nathan decided he would do the kind big brother thing and stay with her, but I think he was glad not to be climbing the tree tops.
As you can see Katie-Lynne is only just tall enough to reach the wire overhead and really struggled clipping herself on and off each section of the wires.
Henry enjoyed it, though after the first level he had, had enough.
Jakob was the real pro, and made it through all four levels. He said when he got to the last level as long as he didn't think how high up he was it was OK.

Jason made sure he stayed close to Katie-Lynne as there were a few times he thought she couldn't do it. But like any person who likes thrill rides she thought it was great.
These lizards were everywhere throughout the park getting under your feet, grabbing any food that you dropped or just staring at you like they were sizing you up!
We did find an adventure playground so Lilly could climb ropes, and do flying foxes with the others.
And of course what is a wildlife park without a crocodile to sit on...
or lay on....
or even to stick your head in its mouth.
the girls really loved the kangaroos, especially as they were able to feed them and pat them. I think Katie-Lynne loved the way they would hold her hand to get to the food she had.

As you can see Nathan and Jakob weren't overly thrilled with the kangaroos and just sat around looking cool.
This crocodile was huge!! But they couldn't feed him as apparently crocodiles need the sun to digest their food and Monday was a cloudy day.
All wasn't lost though, the girls and Jason took up the chance to hold a baby croc. Please note that it does have its mouth taped shut for safety reasons!!

And just as we were about to leave this Koala decided to pose beautifully for me as we walked past his enclosure.
