I began this blog last week, but life became busy and have only just got back to it now.
Life is once again in full swing, hence the lack of blogging. The kids have all made a good start to the school year and seem to be settling into their new classes and environments well. Everyone is feeling a little tired though. I came out one morning to find Lilly just lying on the floor in her school uniform saying that she just felt tired.
Jakob is also one that is feeling a bit exhausted. With seminary each morning and longer hours with college and travel times, and also working several nights a week, sometimes until 11:30pm.
Uni has also been back for two weeks now and I am feeling a little overwhelmed with all the studying I need to do. This year I am studying Social Analysis of Modern Society (SAMS), Psychology Research Methods 2, Health Sociology and Indigenous Justice Issues. They are all rather heavy subjects with lots of reading and research involved. So hopefully with time and effort I can make it through semester 1.
Another change or achievement is Henry who has been elected as vice house captain of his house at school. He was really pleased to be elected as he had to write a speech and present it, then the children in house (Wattle) had to vote. His role is to represent his house in sporting endeavours, and to be a role model. The kids were asked to select someone who they see as having leadership and organisational ability, and who care for people and respect the school. Needless to say I am very proud of our youngest son.
Another change that makes me smile is Jason. He now needs to wear glasses when he reads and does computer work. I helped him choose which ones, and spent quite a bit of time laughing as he tried on different pairs. But we found a pair we both liked in the end. I think they make him look distinguished, the kids said he looks like a grandpa. He actually reminds me of a narrator that sits and reads a story to children and then peers over his glasses at the children in front of him.
