With the weather being hot and not being able to get away for a summer holiday this year, I thought I would take the kids for a trip out to the Mole Creek Caves. On the way we stopped at the Honey Farm at Chudleigh for some honey tasting and some honey ice cream.
We then headed to the caves which are a cool 9 degrees inside all year round. It was so nice to head from 32 degrees outside to 9 degrees inside. We even put our coats on to keep warm.
As well as being beautiful to see we also learnt some really interesting things like: The caves have been open for tours since 1912, some of the formations are believed to have begun around a spiders web and glow worms are only in Australia and New Zealand and are not a worm at all!!
The caves are definitely worth a visit and even the teens were impressed, although they tried not to show it. I did catch them in the cave seemingly absorbed in what they were hearing and seeing :)
The girls of course are allot easier to please.
Then it was back to the heat and home. Will definitely have to visit the other caves there another time :)
