Missionary Moments

Last Week Elder Rowlings Wrote....

... We did get to have lunch with the older busy lady, and she says maybe in February can start lots of lessons and Church again. Couldn't come to church this Sunday though. We had someone at Church, a friend of a member, which was cool, but didn't get to teach them. Aside from that, we have rode a lot this week. It's good, Tucker choro is willing to go anywhere and we are both pumped to put in that extra bit of effort. Rode from one end of our map to the other  on Wednesday and got lots of good finding and visiting time in to. Skills are getting better and better, still not good, but passable. ....Met an Australian from Darwin during the week as well, he was real nice, could be a friend there, he is (of course) teaching English...
And yeah, so the week has been alright, got some rare Pokemon cards, lots of good food (sukiya!) and stuff.
We ran out of Eikaiwa flyers, might be a while til we get more, which is a shame. We are hoping for new people every week though, we are also doing ping pong before and after, ...was a bit rusty, but managed to beat all the other Elders eventually. My companion was surprisingly good. We are hoping to use it for a dendou activity.
The cold weather is painful because (I guess) when the body first gets cold in pumps blood into the the outer parts (fingers\face/ears/toes, etc) (that's why you go pink) until the body thinks it is losing too much heat that way, then will pump blood away from those areas (when you got white or blue). My hands especially it does that, makes them ache a bit and my hands really clumsy. Then when you get warm again it will push the blood back in, but I guess the strain of that is what makes it really painful, all your capillaries will be stretching back out or whatever, when you are warming up near the heater and stuff. So yeah, unless I wear both pairs of gloves, that happens to me a lot.

This Week Elder Rowlings Wrote....

Eikaiwa is going well. .... The 4 new students that we got have been consistent in coming, and I think we are helping them out. One of the funniest things though in Eikaiwa is teaching Americans Australian words, and then becoming a student myself when we work on pronunciation, almost perfected my whiny American voice, I just really hope it doesn't stick, as I have noticed more and more I will say words in the crazy vowel American way.
We only have a member come to ping pong with us so far, which is better than nothing, but hopefully will see more success from that as time goes on.
Weather has been warming up, although I hear February is the coldest month. We did have snow last night when we were housing. MY companion finds it amusing when I get really excited about the snow falling, trying to catch snow flakes and make them stick to me and stuff... who said dendou wasn't fun.
.... I received my birthday package, thanks, the Australian themed goods have been a hit in the apartment! And my new lapel pins are just what I wanted, ..... now I can tell them about Tasmania and apples. The after shave is my favourite though. I like smelling good, and huon pine is one of my most favourite smells.....
A shrine that Elder Rowlings found while tracting

Out at night in the cold in Miki
Lost in Bamboo
This is an old castle, the picture made it look huge, realised it was a scale model and all that was left is the base
