Missionary Moments

My week this week was pretty average. The mission is just getting really excited right now for the Christofferson taikai this Saturday. The ward members were also hyped about it. I am obviously looking forward to it also. On Tuesday we had a zone taikai with President Zinke and the the assistants. It was really good. I think President Zinke is becoming the mission president version of trunky. He is reminiscing a lot about everything, but he is also giving some super powerful trainings. ..... He connected it all to the temple and Eternal marriage and personal experience and it was over all a very deep and spiritual discussion. It was well timed as my companion and I had been planning on teaching and offering a priesthood blessing to an investigator who is struggling with particular commandments, which we were able to do this week is a more powerful way than before.
I had some unusual run ins this week. So apparently there is this international organisation called AMWAY (American Way). Something to do with lifestyle and buying and selling directly from the factory. Anyway. On Friday we were housing in a richer area (not something we usually do) before an appointment, and housed into this mother, who was nice and heard us out. I feel I presented us quite well in the contact but when I asked if she wanted to know more or had interest she said no. We were about to leave and she told us to wait a moment and then invited us inside. She gave us stuff to drink and asked more about what we were doing, and she expressed some interest in us, if not our message. She then whipped out an AMWAY magazine and told us about it, and how she wants to make friends with us and will listen to what we have to share and wants us to tell people about AMWAY when we get back to our countries. She gave us her number and said she will invite us to barbecues, parties. etc. Very unusual but we took it in our stride and were happy for the PI. Then on Saturday a PI from a couple of weeks before who had also been really friendly and asked us for our number, finally had time to meet. We met him at his 'second house' and he brought us into a decked out party suite. When we met him he was in a relatively moderate apartment building. He had a lot of interest in us and our message, but it was getting towards 9:30pm, so we didn't get a full lesson in. I inquired as to his wealth and situation, and then he brought out the same AMWAY magazine and explained it to us more than the first lady. .....
I recovered fairly well, but the dreaded Hayfever has begun. It looks like this time of year is when it happens in Japan, and I am included. My medicine keeps it okay, but I still can only survive well with a face mask and being very careful......
