Kitchen Pantry

Here is what I hope to be the last activity in the kitchen for some time, so far as rennovations are concerned. This is the new pantry Tammy wanted in the corner. It is not yet raised to the right height, leveled or finished with kickboards, along with the addition of a shelve inside the sliding doors. Ideally a Bunnings kit job would have suited my limited carpentry skills, but alas the depth did not allow it. It would have worked out cheaper too, albeit we would have some OH&S issues with swinging cupboard doors and the entry! I took an extra day along with the Launceston Show Day holiday and all of Saturday to get this beasty in. The door runners proved to be tricky due to the cutout required for the wheel assembly.

On a personal note, it is interesting what you discover about yourself when doing something out of your comfort zone. I can't say I am all that pleased with the lack of patience, when things don't quite go according to plan. I don't make the best company. It may be a learned behaviour inherited from my father, as I am often reminded of his (re)actions as I saw them as a child. Time to throw off that ill gotten persona, with some hard work at change, along with a good measure of humility!
