This morning I popped into Henry's classroom to check that Henry's class was running assembly today. When I asked his teacher she told me yes and that Henry would be receiving a merit certificate today, I thought that's nice... as it was probably for the usual things like working hard.
But then she told me it was because of his honesty, and I thought - wow!...
Henry is the type of kid that enjoys school because of the social life and is allot of the time more concerned with entertaining his friends and having fun then doing what is asked. So apparently he and a friend were supposed to be sitting on the mat and listening to his teacher, but instead were mucking around and not listening. His teacher - Miss Leary - only noticed Henry's friend and he got in trouble. Well anyway about 10 minutes later Miss Leary said Henry came to her and said it wasn't just his friend that was making all the noise, but that it was him too. Miss Leary was still cross but was very pleased with his honesty and made a point of letting Henry know that she appreciated his honesty....
I have to admit that when I heard all this I was a very pleased mum. It's really nice to know when one of your kids does the right thing. That what you are teaching them is sinking in, and they are setting a good example at school. And especially when it's Henry who gets into trouble on a regular basis because he loves to socialize and could of this time avoided trouble, but instead chose to do the right thing.....(by the way he didn't get into trouble because he was honest...)

That is so cool! (Not that Henry was making noise, but was honest and was rewarded for it!). Well done Henry.
