Missionary Moments - Elder Nathan Rowlings. Philippines Legazpi Mission

.....Apparently Bicolano is more similar to Cebuano (what they speak in the south), but most if not all understand Tagalog. I will also have to learn some Masbate (mas Bar Tae), thats the island in the south of my mission, they have their own language there aswell.
Tracting was good as, we took a Van to Quezon City North mission, then we got paired off with elders from there. I was put with one of the zone leaders, he's a Filipino. We took a Trike, which is a motorbike, with a side car on it, ...... So we took like 2 of those to get to where we needed to go, which was a fairly poor area. I put some Mentos in my pocket, and handed them out to the little kids, who were running around on the street, and when they saw me they were like, "Americano", and they went and got their friends and stuff, but I had ran out of Mentos. Then we just talked to people. some guy was squatting outside a fence, we went and talked to him, asked if he was interested (in Tagalog), He wasn't, but there was an old guy that he said would be that we talked to, we talked to him for like 10ish minutes, he didn't want us to return, ..... Then we went out on the street again, and talked to some people, we went by a shop on the side of the road, and asked the girl at the counter if she had some time to hear our message, and we taught her, and she was interested, and wanted us to return. I didn't really teach must just bore testimony that what the Filipino Elder was teaching was true. Then we took some Trikes back, and the whole ride, every time, we talked to the trike driver about the gospel. And the last one that we took to the chapel, I bore my testimony to him, in Tagalog, and he wanted to hear more, so there was an appointment set up some time later this week for him. That's about it, there's a bit of stuff i left out, but I don't know, I don't like talking about the poverty here.
Anyway, I am better now from the food poisoning, one of the missionaries from Malaysia gave me some charcoal tablets when it started,.....
From Rustins store my favourite thing is probably Tang, but I'm trying not to drink that as much. I also buy cookies, and chips and stuff. This week though, I bought spam and crackers, as that's an MTC tradition here. Normally the Americans do it, but now that they're all gone, the responsibility has fallen upon my batch, but it tastes good anyway.. speaking of responsibility, Me and Hooper are the MTC zone leaders now, .....
I was going to get some more photos, like a lot more, but i didn't end up doing it. I was going to get a picture with one of the security guards outside of Rustins store, because they look scary with shotguns slung over their chest but when I came out, they were too far away.
Mapagmahal po  lahat kayo.
