So, first of all, I am not transferring. That makes it my
4th in Himeji, the longest I have stayed in an area for. In fact, most of the
mission is staying put, probably due to the fact that we have a change of
Kaichouship. .....
We had the baptism yesterday, it went really quite well, the
members were really supportive. Now that that is over, we will need to find
something to occupy our time with, a new goal to work towards. We need new
investigators!!
During the week I attended a Cooking class, from our AMWAY
friend. I can make my own goma dressing (for home, cuz you don't have it and it
is delicious), Bavarian Cream, and how exactly to steam and bake (like an oven)
using the stove (it is all we have). I have decided that cooking is a solid
hobby. I perfected the pizza this week. Using the stove and making the base
from scratch. In under an hour. It tasted excellent, and it was all from bulk
ingredients, so total cost was probably $4 gurai, but when my apartment mates
orded pizza, it cost them $17 for one kinda small cheese pizza...
Japan....
Cooking aside, the week has been pretty good. ...... We had
various things happen, but nothing too exciting, expect Oame (big rain). We
were riding our bikes back from a couple of lessons, and we could see a very
menacing almost green rain cloud just over yonder. An old man randomly pulled
up beside us and yelled in our face Oame! Oame! and then calmed down and asked
where we were from, then yelled at us to get under cover and rode off. We were
like... what...? And then started feeling a couple of drops, we were about 7
mins from the chapel, so we started riding for it, thinking the world was about
to end. Then it pretty much did. ..... we got to the Church drenched.
The storm lasted 30 minutes and then it was clear for the rest of the day. It
was kinda fun though......
