Over the Easter break Jason and I and the three youngest headed to the East Coast for some time away, while Nathan headed to a survival hike/camp at Freycinet Peninsula with the 16 and 17 year old young men from church from around the state.
We stayed in Swansea, in a cosy cabin - the cabin certainly lived up to it's name!! But the view was amazing as you looked out across the bay to Hazards at Coles Bay. Our main aim for heading here was to spend a day hiking over to Wineglass Bay.
The second day we were there we drove to the Freycinet Peninsula and hiked. It has been years since I have been to Wineglass Bay - I think I was a teenager last time - but it was still as beautiful as ever and is well worth the hike up and over the Hazards to get there and back.... even the kids commented how amazing it was. I did want to do the Hazards beach circuit on the return - but I wasn't able to convince the kids that 8km would be easier than the return hike up over the hazards (about 3km).... hmm maybe next time :)
