Missionary Moments

This week Jakob wrote...

Well, transfer week this week, and were definitely in for a surprise. Habikino is being white washed! ..... we are now getting 4 brand new missionaries to this area .....
On a positive note, I am going somewhere a bit remote, I think near Fukuchiyama, although I don't know where that is right now, Miki area, and am going to be in a yonin (4 Elders living together), I am also going to be training a brand new missionary, so I have no idea who my new companion will be until Thursday....
.... our last week went okay.....  we talked with lots of nice people. On Tuesday we got to go up to the University again and join a class of students our age in making dyes out of some of the plants we have been helping grow. Also had a nice lunch with the old man, Mukudai san, who invited us along to service. Will have to get pictures this week (last chance). Got several chances to share about who we were and what we do during that. Other highlights this past week was the koukon on Friday (exchange). I got to go to Higashi-osaka area for a day and night and things went really well. I got to teach a lesson and visit and make friends with some of their investigators, and clean up their apartment, because some Elders live like farm animals (eat, sleep, work, no cleaning). I really enjoyed it.
Sunday we had the Osaka stake President come and talk to our ward, I only understood about 50% of what he said, but he carries such a strong spirit around that it's undeniable no matter what language you hear coming from his mouth. He talked about missionary work, and we often are grateful when members do this, as it 'stokes' the members 'dendou fire', well this guy pretty much threw a can of petrol in. The Church is in good hands here in Japan. Our goal is a temple in Osaka! Apparently it's not too far away if missionary work continues going strong.
Our recent convert is going alright, still can't get to church regularly, but we are working with him, and his testimony is only getting stronger. Will be a very sad lesson Tuesday, last one I get with him!
