Today Henry went to Queechy for Orientation Day in preparation for starting grade 7 next year. Even though he is our 4th one to start high school, it still makes me feel a little reflective. Especially as Henry is the youngest boy and well sometimes it would be nice to just freeze the picture for a little while longer... but time marches on....
Although it tugged at the heart strings a little to see him walking into high school, it was nice to see him go in with Nathan and to know that Nathan would be looking out for him and will continue to do so next year.
Nathan was selected as peer support for grade 7's for 2012, (they had to put in a written application if they wanted to become peer support). You could describe it as a mentor position where three grade 10's (or will be in 2012), are assigned to each grade 7 class to help with the transition from primary school to high school. I was really pleased to hear when they arrived home that Nathan had been assigned to Henry's class:)
