Jason has a new mistress!

Much to Tammy's dismay I have taken a new mistress (or at least Tam thinks so). Here are some of her attributes:

  • Quite the head turner (everybody watches her when in the same room)

  • Slim

  • Has all the curves in the right place

  • Gives a good impression

I don't think Tam likes her too much. I brought her home Friday night wich is our traditional date night (Tam & I). I got quite the scolding for spending much of the evening with Isabel. In my defence she needed some setting up in the home. Here is her picture:

Isn't she beautiful and yes she is a 46" LED LCD TV

Painting

I had the week off work to enjoy some quiet time with Tam after she finished her exams and to get on with some home improvements. We started cleaning up the kids bathroom some time back but did not get finished. Well that has now been completed with a couple of coats of paint and a new ceiling fan. It even motivated me to that little bit extra and so the stair well got a clean coat of paint too. It was sorely needed with so many dents and marks from its usage in the past 7 years. Some photos to come.

The Second Car!

After months of waiting (that is Jason not so patiently) we finally have a second car. I would have liked something later model (2001+) but this 1997 Ford festiva GLXi was within our car budget and among other things is to serve Jakob in his learning to drive. We picked it up this afternoon and had a new windscreen fitted (chip in driver's vision). Now for registration (due this month) and 3rd party insurance has used all our budget. I may have to charge Jakob for lessons to defray the costs!

I think Jakob was impressed that it has an Alpine system in it that takes an iPod. You may be hearing us before seeing us "bunny hopping" along, sharing our music with the community! It is very zippy with a 1.5Ltr motor. I think Tam will have trouble driving it let alone Jakob.
(Mr A. Spilling I may need some hub caps!)

A few odd jobs

I was pleased to have a few additional days off work that allowed me to get to a few tasks that needed attention. The main activity centred around our kitchen sink. When I put it in I did not anchor it down properly or seal the benchtop. It has only been waiting since April! This got done on Thursday morning. While I was heading toward Bunnings I noted the condition of our fly screen on the sliding door of the rumpus room and got the supplies to do that. Tam picked up on my willingness to be doing some fixups and brought my attention to two other screens that needed attention too.
One of these is our security screen door at the back of the house. Seldom used but it was in quite the state with rusted flaky paint so as we did not commit to replacing the door we decided on a minor do-over with a couple cans of spray whilst replacing the cat scratched fly screen. In hind sight we should have used a heritage green instead of the red, in order to match the roof and guttering. Well we still have the front door to do!

The new Couch

I took Friday off work to spend time with Tam and to do some furniture shopping. I forgot how taxing shopping of this nature can be! Tam is a very frugal woman and likes to buy things a bit on the cheap so far as I am concerned. I think she forgets how long we tend to hold on to what we buy. This latest purchase replaced our first couch we inherited from her parents and we recovered in our early years of wedded bli$$ (where there was little $$) That couch has seen 30 years I am told. Anyhow Tam & I went round all the shops and came back to the first store (Kings) and bought this Laz-A-Boy.
