Missionary Moments - Elder Nathan Rowlings. Philippines Legazpi Mission

I'm kind of adjusting to the heat, our flat has 3 electric fans, like the ones you whip out in summer, I have one next to my bed that I leave going all night. Tricycles is how I get around, I'm sure if you google Filipino Tricycle you will find one, they are normally covered in people, when we go to the far areas, I had to stand this week, All they are is just a motorbike with a metal frame and side carriage attached….
Yes it's normal for a lot of baptisms here, I had 3 baptisms this week all little girls of the age of 8,9 and 9. Welcome to primary...

The food is pretty nice, I haven't found anywhere that sells bolut yet, but when I do I give it a shot. I think I said last week that I Get to teach "eight discussions", there is an area where everyone is a member, we’ve had food there 3 or 4 times, then there is a family in a far area, that whenever we show up we get Milo and skyflakes (popular brand of biscuit here in Philippines). The MTC just fed us and fed us, I gained somewhere between 3-6 kilos there, and in the field I don't eat as much. We always cook for ourselves, normally my companion cooks, and I clean. We always cook rice, then have Ulam with it, which by translation is "the thing you eat with rice", it’s normally chicken or fish, and occasionally pork.
P-day routine is do whatever you like until 5-ish so long as its within mission rules. Today we went to the gym, then to Kawa Kawa. I will send photos, don’t worry.
There is a super market, it’s nice and air-conditioned, it’s part of a shopping centre, and it’s one of the few places that have the guards with shotguns. There's only ever 1 outside, but there's regular ones with pistols on the inside.
The church units here in Ligao are all branches, at the moment were applying to be a stake, and a ward, but in order to do so we need to update our records, so we spend a lot of time looking for past members, but because no one has a real address, just the suburb-type area, it's hard. Like our area book, it's full of drawings of little maps, and key locations and stuff. My branch has 2 sets of missionaries, sisters and Elders.
