However, we got some replacements for investigator of the
week. We met a nice mother a few weeks ago who is studying a lot of Christian
groups, but every time we came back she was busy, however her 11 year old
daughter absolutely loves us and always bugged her to tell us to come back, so
we did with an appointment on Thursday and got to teach her. She was really
receptive to the message, and is reading the Book of Mormon.
On Saturday night I invited the N.'s (the LA mum and
daughter) to Church. Sister N. has not been to Church since she was 18, (she
is now in her 50's) and E., the daughter, has only been to the ward
Christmas party a few times before. To my surprise they both actually came and
the ward accepted them really well. There were some older members who couldn't
believe their eyes after 30 years of not seeing her. I am not sure how serious
Sister N. is in coming back to Church, but she seemed the same as all the
other members and fit in well. I hope this was not just a one time trick.
Apparently she also sent a letter to you, which might arrive soon. She came
'because of our friendship', maybe when we visit from now on, we can actually
do some proper gospel lessons too.
We had a sports evening on Saturday, .....We had a couple of investigators and friends come too though, so
it ended up being fun anyway, with Volley-Ball and Dodge-ball. It was a little
lame in the sense of that I was probably the most athletic person there (and I
am not athletic), but you have to work with what you have right?
..... Probably the highlight of the meeting
(zone meeting that is) was giving my good-bye testimony, which was fun......
I asked about flight details, apparently they are usually
pretty set, but President didn't know any specifics for me. It sounds like I
might be sitting around with Elder S. for a while in airports though, to
get back on 9th or 10th, flying all night...
