It's that time of year again when it's time to decorate the Christmas tree. I love to gather together to decorate, and even as the years pass the kids are still happy to decorate the tree with some of the cute little things they made when they were younger, along with the porcelain ornaments that Nan has made over the years.
A tradition that we started a few years ago was for the kids to write themselves a note and place it in their stocking when we pack away the tree after the Christmas season. So when we put up the tree again they get to open their letters to themselves. This is usually met with smiles. Sometimes they even put money in their stocking for a surprise for themselves or other things. The Christmas before Jakob left on his mission he wrote himself quite a lengthy letter and placed it in his stocking with instructions that it not be opened for 3 years. It's still there waiting for him to open next Christmas. This year we all pulled his envelope out and wondered what he written to himself, but it has been placed back in his stocking......
It is also Leira's first Christmas,.... she was so cute as she looked at the decorations, deciding that her favourite were the baubles. She is such a cutie!
