.....my week was fairly good.
On Monday we had dinner with a Filipino friend, who just
before the appointment asked if her whole family could come.... of course they
could! It was a pretty fun evening, hopefully we will find some investigators
from that soon.
Not a whole lot exciting happen, that I can remember in the
middle of the week, just patiently enduring as the weather gets colder and
colder, and it gets harder and harder to get people motivated to meet.
On Thursday we had dinner with another Filipino, K. His
family have become the other Elders investigators, which is really cool. He
isn't my investigator, but he is my bro, so we got to talk a lot over dinner
(also Elder M. couldn't really join, cause it was mostly English), and he kept
saying how he wants to become Mormon.... why can't all people be cool like
that?
On Saturday we had an awesome Stake conference. I went to
the leadership session and the night session, and then the Sunday session the
next day. All the talks were brilliant and faith inspiring. There was this one
lady whose father finally joined the Church after 30 years of being outrageously
opposed to it, and the story of the rest of her family patiently enduring and
doing what they could to live the gospel. There was also a big focus on temples
and President Welch (the mission president) spoke three times. (Once in each session). He is fluent in
Japanese, which is a big confidence booster for the members,......
He likes to tell funny stories, which are even better in Japanese I think.....
The teaching this week was okay, we only had a few lessons,
which was kind of slow, but lots of other appointments too, which was
good.
The lights festival wasn't too big. I guess if it was back
home it would be a pretty big deal, but Japan has so many cool
festivals that this was just one more again, if you didn't live in
Kusatsu, you probably wouldn't have heard about it sort of thing.
Another cool week ahead. Hopefully I don't freeze!
