Best was probably that we got to meet with someone who
hasn't been able to meet for a while, and he agreed to a Baptismal date. I hope
we get to see or at least have well prepared at least two or three baptisms
this transfer.
We spent a lot of time with Livia and Kevin, who are the
friends I made a little while ago at that Japanese class. Livia invited us all
over to dinner on Thursday at her Christian Church, which is pretty fancy, but
kind of small compared with ours. It is owned by some Korean preachers. The
dinner went well, we had the sisters, us 4 Elders, Kevin and of course Livia
there, and all had a good time. I spent a lot of time translating for poor
Elder M., because it was all in English, but he enjoyed it too.
Just as we were about to leave the Korean pastor lady showed
up, and I was wondering if she was about to throw a fit, seeing so many Mormons
in her building. She was pretty civil with us though, ..... It was raining on
Saturday, but we all went out and did soccer and then ping pong. The Vortex
you sent me lasted about 10 minutes, and then got stuck on a roof, so that was
the end of that. It was fun, but the only Japanese person there was my
companion. The whole room was a whirl of English and Portuguese.
The pinata I made was using everything I remembered from
when I was a kid, so yeah, I used two balloons and stuff like that.
Having those two Chinese Elders over gives you a good insight
into what my teaching is like. I could probably get most content over okay and
understand alright, up until an unknown word comes up, and then I am stuck
until someone can explain it all for me. But then the explanation can just
confuse me too. Do they have electronic dictionaries? That helps a lot for me.
Make sure you fellow ship their investigators. I can say Hello my name is Elder
Rowlings in Chinese, which I like to use when I see Chinese people, to make
them laugh, ....
