Christmas

Twas the night before Christmas and all through the house,

All the children had finally become as quiet as a mouse.

The stockings were stuffed by the chimney with care,

And the presents were laid out with meticulous care.

Two little girls arose early from their beds,
And put there Santa hats on their cute little heads,
They dragged their big brothers from their sound sleep,
And crept to the lounge room to take a quick peep.

Then out in the lounge there arouse a great clatter
And the parents had to check what was the matter.
So out to the lounge dad went with a dash
"Hurry up" said the kids "be quick as a flash!"

The kids they all sat in the lounge in suspense

Patiently waiting to open their presents.

Jakob received amongst what he got,
A present from his sister, who loves him allot.

Dad was happy with what he received.
A new shirt for work with nice cool short sleeves.
And also some food and a nice fizzy drink.
That will make him quite happy, many would think.

The youngest is always quite spoilt it seems
With presents unwrapped around her in reams
Many of these came from the stores,
But the best gift for her is the family she adores

Growing up can be quite hard it would seem
Especially when mum gave away all your old scene.
Luckily Santa knew just what to get
Lots of new clothes and now he's all set.

Being fourteen can be quite a difficult age,
But Santa had the answer for a present at this stage
An iPod touch certainly did hit the spot
And this child was all happy with all that he got.

But then dad and Santa decided on a scheme
That made the whole family just want to scream
A trip to the sun, what a wondrous surprise
To places not seen, by these little eyes.

All was appreciated, but perhaps not as much
As this game of soccer, Lilly could not get enough.
She played it all day, and made herself hot
And was heard to say, 'this is the best present I got!".

And of course Christmas consists of eating and fun
And of this daughter we have photo, but one
It was taken in secret by her little friend
Its one that we'll cherish when we look back again

And what would it be without all getting together
With family and friends of whom we all treasure.
Receiving and giving, and seeing the smiles
Makes each Christmas day certainly worthwhile.
