Easter break is nearly over, and its been great to have a break from the everyday but time just slips away. Jason and Jakob went to youth convention in Hobart while I stayed at home with the the younger five. Though we kept ourselves pretty busy, visited the wetlands in Launceston, if you've never been there it's a great place for a family walk. It's a boardwalk that connects several small islands in the Tamar River until it reaches Tamar Island in the middle of the river. We also went to Theogenes swimming, it's great having membership there and being able to make use of the family swim time, though I think my kids enjoy the hydro massgae pool more at the moment - especially Katie-Lynne.
Hallie - Lilly's favourite cousin - came to stay and then Lilly went to Hallie's, while Sarra her sister came to our place to stay with Katie-Lynne and also spend time with Aneika.

Today we were all finally back together as a family, so it was time for some family time. We went to the Launceston Lakes and Wildlife Park also known as Devil Haven. It was a good time out - lots of animals to look at. We got to watch the tassie devils being fed and and the kids got to pat and touch some 8 month old devils. Though I think what entertained them the most were the talking birds. There was one cockatoo just walking around free that said "hello" and pulled on shoelaces. A Mackaw that would try to bite you through the cage and when you jumped would go "ha,ha,ha,ha" and also said "hello". Our favourite was a Corella that said heaps....."hello", "you're a good boy", "goodbye", "come back", "you're a twit" and there was more. It was just good to spend time with each other having fun. Except the camera's batteries were flat and I had to take the pictures on the phone!!

The very friendly Corella
