The End of an Era for Two

This week marked the end of an era for both Jason and Jakob. Jason finished up working at the university after 19 years and Jakob finished up at KFC after 4 years....

Jason has received a redundancy and doesn't officially finish until the 3rd of April, but with a little bit of holiday owing he finished up on Wednesday. I know he is sad to leave the place that he has worked at since completing his university studies, but as he said 'it's time to move on'. It will seem a little odd to be out there studying this year and not be able to just pop into his office and see him :(
He received lots of well wishes and gifts this week, and says he felt a little emotionally drained with saying good bye to work peers, friends and packing up his office. So now he is looking for new employment..... anyone after a senior analyst programmer??
His name plaque for his office
A farewell poster from the student centre where his office was based for most of his university time
A mug that his work peers had done for him, with a screen caption of the student record system that he worked on tirelessly
Cards from Launceston and Hobart work peers
Lots of thoughtful well wishes....

Jakob completed his last shift last night at 11:30pm so that he has 1 week free before he departs on his mission on the 1st of April. Being a cook out the back of KFC can be a pretty grotty and tiring job, and although he didn't like it at first he diligently applied himself and  came to enjoy his shifts there. ...
Jakob after his last shift at KFC
He wasn't too dirty last night when he came home, sometimes he is coated in those secret herbs and spices that KFC use on their chicken!!
