Jakob departs on his mission tomorrow at 6:30 am in the morning.... So this past week has been all about making sure he is ready and spending time together. He has also spent time with his school friends, some of whom he has been friends with since kinder :).
As his mum it's a little bitter sweet at the moment,... I'm going to miss him heaps and it will take some adjustment not having him at home. However, I am so grateful that he has chosen to do this and know that he has made the right choice. I was watching him last night just hanging out with his brothers and sisters - the boys wrestled each other and joked around as they do, the girls were cheeky to their brothers.... they all get on so well:) I know he will be missed by all of us.
Here's a little bit of a snapshot of some of the things we have done together this week
Nathan and Jakob cooking tea for us on Monday night. Love seeing them work together like this :)
At the punchbowl on Friday for a family get together and farewell
The three oldest together - Aneika, Jakob and Nathan. They were such cuties together when they were little - with less than three years separating their ages
What can I say more...... such a good young man
The six together
Siblings and cousins
Let's all pick on Jakob - as you can see Lilly is the one that seems to razz Jakob up the most. She loves to rough it with her brothers :)
With little cousin Flynn
A family together - it will be a few years before we can have another family photo as at the end of next year Nathan will be old enough to leave on his mission before Jakob returns in 2015.
Our three boys
At a lookout on the zigzag track at the Gorge
After our Gorge walk yesterday
The men - recuperating after a beautiful Saturday morning walk
