The moment I finished my exams on Wednesday it was time to get away and have some family time. So we headed to Ulverstone to have some time away.
One thing I love about getting away is the way the kids just hang out with each other, no matter the age difference, that some are boys and some are girls and some are teens are others not they just really enjoy each others company...

They even get in and play on the equipment in the park together... Jakob does end up doing allot of the pushing and lifting stuff though. Allot of the time it's really nice to join in and have fun and at other times it's really nice to sit back and watch them interact with each other.
One of the most important things when at the beach is collecting shells and even in winter being barefoot in the sand.
And I'm not really sure what is about boys and driftwood, but the boys always seem to be attracted to it. Whether to throw it in the water, dig and draw in the sand, play sword fights or just look tough.

And we all had a good laugh at Jason, not one to be outdone by his boys he had to jump across the creek. He managed on the way over - just. But coming back the bank was higher and he ended up hitting the side and the water and doing a fantastic face plant! He was just a bit wet and sandy afterwards.
Lilly decided that being at the beach meant not just removing her shoes, but rolling up her pants, she did say the water was icy though.

We thought while we were in Ulverstone we would try out the bike hirer from Pedal Buggies. Just recently they have added to their collection an 8 seater and 4 seater large bike that you can ride all the way to Turners Beach on the track that now connects the two beach towns. So we thought we would we give it a try.... it was FUN! There are four seats with pedals and one steering wheel along with two sets of gears, so everyone had a turn at steering and peddling. Though Katie and Lilly could not quite reach the pedals... It's a really good way to see how well your family can work together.... whether some one does the majority of the peddling, or someone else likes to randomly throw the gears so that others legs start free spinning, or whether the driver can keep you on the path.... (hm mm I can sense a really good analogy coming out of this)

When we left Ulverstone on Saturday we decided to check out the new Bluff playground in Devonport. It was pretty cool, although there was ALLOT of people there, so we only got to try out a few pieces of the new equipment.
And just to let you know that we have been calling Lilly toothless for about a week now for a reason. Last weekend she lost her other front tooth, so in addition with her two bottom teeth there's not allot of teeth for biting with:)
