Holidays

Exams and holidays don't really mix, but once again the kids and I have to juggle the two. While they are having fun and relaxing, I am trying to prepare for exams and sit exams. So I try and strike a balance by studying in the mornings and evenings and spending time with them in the afternoons. To begin the holidays Sarra and Hallie came to stay. The plan was that Katie and Lilly would have someone to play with and hence leave me more time to study....
The weather wasn't that great, but the girls had fun together. Tuesday afternoon I took them to Royal park. The wind was freezing and so strong coming up the Tamar river, but the girls had a great time playing on all the exercise equipment there and pretending they were flying in the strong winds.
On Thursday after one of my exams, the kids I headed down to the Basin to see if there were any flood waters after all the rain we had last weekend. The water was certainly up, and while we were there it continued to rise gradually. The low path was closed that goes from one side of the Basin to the other, and the kids still wanted to walk on it. I said we better not as it must be closed for a reason. While we there the water gradually rose and covered the path, good thing we heeded the warning signs!
