Cakes
It's a success!! I actually managed to make the cake that Nathan wanted for his birthday and it looks like the picture in the magazine... and tasted great too. It's a chocolate peppermint mousse cake. It has crushed chocolate ripple biscuits for the base, a peppermint cream centre with crushed peppermint crisps through it and then a whipped chocolate mousse top with chocolate flakes and more crushed peppermint crisps on top... If you can't tell I'm really pleased as it's not often that my cakes actually look like the picture... (to be honest it was my second attempt as the first I beat the cream centre too long and it turned into peppermint flavoured curds and whey!!)
Nathan with his birthday cake - just not quite right to put candles on but he loved it just the same.
Katie-Lynne went to party on Saturday morning and they had a professional face painter there. When I turned up to pick her up Lilly managed to get in on the action and get her face done too. So they both looked really cute when I brought them home....
And apparently this is what angry fairies look like...
