The Worst Flood in 50 Years!!!

THE WORST FLOOD IN 50 YEARS...
That's what the headlines were in the paper were yesterday. We went to check out the flood at the Gorge yesterday..... and I think that's what all of Launceston thought too, the traffic in and out of the Gorge was crazy, (plus they are doing up the road there so that didn't help matters). But it was certainly worth it, I've never seen the Gorge like this and the suspension bridge was closed.
Lilly was really scared at first, but after a while she was ok. And who could blame her the roar of the water rushing through with such power was amazing. There was also so much debris... trees of all shapes and sizes,..... and it certainly did not look like the Gorge that we are all accustomed to.

The waters rushing under the suspension bridge

No playground and no lawn, the water was lapping up around the retaining wall.

Katie-Lynne and Lilly climbing the rocks around the walking track.

Henry and Nathan just checking out the water and posing for me.
The only bit of green lawn left, though it did look as though the water had been higher

FAR OUT!!! that is some serious flooding. We've had heaps of rain too but not quite that much. Our back lawn looks like Shreck's swamp and I am sooooo sick of it.
