Here is the overhead cupboards put together. This took a good part of the day. Now to get them on the wall (after we get a range hood). I think they will be sitting down stairs for a good part of next week (maybe longer) . Just as well Tam is used to me having half finished jobs about the house. The kids bathroom was 6 months or more.

The overhead cupboards
Here is the overhead cupboards put together. This took a good part of the day. Now to get them on the wall (after we get a range hood). Regarding half finished jobs, I like your strategy to make sure her expectations aren't too high. Getting a little behind on one job, then a little further on the next means that by the time you get to the really big stuff like a new bathroom or kitchen you are under no real pressure to get it done in some insane amount of time -- like a couple of months. You are then free to take your time to do the job properly or catch up on those missed movies, if needed! I use this strategy myself to varied sucess. :)
