Backyard blitz

Jason wants me to do a blog about our backyard work, for anyone that has been in our yard we have a huge old apricot tree right in the middle of the yard and next to that the barbecue area with a 4m planter box thing attached to it that the previous owners put in - and if you haven't seen our yard just try and visualize!...
Aneika and I decide during the school holidays that the planter box thing had to go, it was falling apart. So we set to work to discover that the thing was full of "Roelf Vos" plastic bags and old concrete bits. (PLASTIC BAGS DO NOT BREAK DOWN!!)..... Then after that the old concrete path that ran alongside it had to go too, so that was 3 trailer loads to the tip.
Then Jason decides that the apricot tree had to go, it hasn't borne much fruit the past few years, but the kids have loved playing in it, climbing it, making rope swings off it and I just wasn't that sure..... All I can say is never leave Jason and Jakob alone in the yard for too long with a saw!! Before I could decide the tree had gone it looks so bare! Mind you he had to tie the stump to the back of the car to get it out!!
So Saturday we went to Bunnings and bought three new fruit trees for the yard, it does gives us allot more room in the yard, but that tree had allot of memories and provided great shade in the summer....I neglected to take a before picture, but here are some of the memories and of some of the work......
